Tenth Annual UCLA Survey of Business School Computer USage: A Global Perspective

Abstract

Business schools today are allocating a greater and greater portion of their overall budget to support information technology. When UCLA’s Anderson School first began its survey ten years ago, microcomputers were a rare commodity on college campuses. This year, the 180 schools responding reported an average of 239 microcomputers per school. This explosive growth represents a technological evolution of major proportion and creates an opportunity to change the nature of business education.

The Tenth Annual UCLA Survey of Business School Computer Usage: A Global Perspective extend the focus of the 1991 Eighth Survey to provide deans and other policy makers with the information necessary to make informed allocation decisions and program plans. It provides an in-depth analysis of the available hardware, software, and databases, entrance and graduation requirements, and financial data. The Seventh Survey presents a detailed cost analysis while the Ninth Survey addressed computerization issues.
