ABSTRACT:
Jeane Kirkpatrick delivered the 2002-03 Peltason Lecture at UC Irvine. In her address, Kirkpatrick discusses the expectations democracy places on its citizens, especially in the area of foreign policy. She also discusses the lessons to be learned from America's past and current relations with Afghanistan, Iraq and the other nations in the Middle East.
