Who Can Join
Any University of California research unit (ORU or MRU), center, or department is eligible to join.

Step-by-Step Guide to Joining the Repository

1. Fill out the setup questionnaire and submit related materials as specified on the questionnaire.
2. Get the CDL-ORU Agreement (available in Adobe Acrobat format) signed by your ORU director. Please print out two copies. Have your ORU director sign both originals. Fax a copy to 510-665-1201. We cannot open your repository site until we receive a faxed version. Mail the two originals to: California Digital Library, University of California Office of the President, 415 20th Street, Oakland, CA 94612, Attn: Matthew Winfield. We'll countersign and mail one back to you.
3. Decide how you are going to handle author agreements (sample text is available as a Microsoft Word document).
4. Customize the boilerplate text and review repository policies.
5. Gather necessary materials for the training.
6. Participate in either a phone or on-campus training session.
7. Finish seeding your repository site with your legacy content and link to it from your web site.
8. Notify all faculty affiliated with your unit that you have joined the eScholarship Repository. Let them know how to submit papers for the repository (sample text for an email message is available as a Microsoft Word document.
