GAIA Submission Guidelines

To request that we consider your manuscript, please submit the following materials:

  • A brief prospectus outlining the subject of your work, the approach you have taken and why, a brief discussion of competing works and what makes your project distinctive, a discussion of the work's likely audience (including courses in which it might be taught), and (if your work is not yet completed) a timeline for completion.
  • Table of contents
  • A sample chapter
  • If the work is to be illustrated, sample illustrations
  • Your curriculum vitae

Please submit your materials by mail in hard copy, or as a single e-mail attachment in MS Word or PDF format, to the following address:

Please do not send your entire manuscript until invited to do so. We do not respond to telephone inquiries.

If we invite your manuscript for formal consideration, we will ask you to submit our Author and Manuscript Inquiry Form with your manuscript.

Full manuscripts must be submitted in two hard copies (to facilitate peer review) and in electronic files in MS Word or RTF formats only. Your manuscript need not be formatted in any particular way for peer review; should it be accepted for publication you will receive detailed guidelines on submitting your manuscript for publication.

All correspondence regarding publication, including readers' reviews and comments regarding revision, will be carried out through e-mail.
