THE INSTITUTE FOR THE STUDY OF SOCIAL CHANGE (ISSC) at the University of California, Berkeley is a research center dedicated to understanding the processes of social change and contributing to the transformation of conditions of inequality. ISSC researchers use a combination of qualitative and quantitative approaches to undertake empirical investigations into critical social issues facing the nation, with a particular focus on California communities. ISSC also provides training and professional development to graduate and undergraduate students.
