Authorship of this document was a group effort. A subcommittee of the UCLA Library Information Literacy Program's steering committee, Patti Caravello and Pauline Swartz, drafted a list of core information competencies for undergraduates based on the ACRL Information Literacy Competency Standards for Higher Education and other documents. The full steering committee made many changes in wording and content which resulted in the final document. The steering committee members were: Stephanie Brasley, David Gilbert, Esther Grassian, Judith Herschman, Joan Kaplowitz, Eleanor Mitchell, and Diane Mizrachi.
