The Series is overseen by the Science Publisher (Charles Crumly) at UC Press. Manuscripts are received by an Editorial Board, who jointly decide on publication after evaluating peer reviews. The Editorial Board consists of tenured UC Faculty.
Once approved for publication by the editorial board, manuscripts will be submitted to the acquisitions editor, currently Charles Crumly, who will then transmit them to the Series production editor. Authors will be asked to provide postcript files or pdf files.
Distribution
Monographs are published electronically in PDF form through a collaboration with the California Digital Library (CDL). These electronic editions are available free of charge and are accessible through the CDL and UC Press websites. They will be linked to library catalog entries and can be linked to other relevant websites.
Print Runs
Volumes are available for sale in print editions, but electronic accessibility is emphasized. Subsequent orders for print copies will be filled using print-on-demand technology.
Library Exchange
Libraries wishing to purchase print copies in addition to the electronic editions (which will be available free) may purchase them at the standard library discount.
Promotion
Volumes are marketed through catalog and website listings. Electronic review copies are sent to appropriate journals and books, and hard copies are exhibited at scientific meetings.
