Meet the Editorial Board

Editor-In-Chief

Farah Haleem is a Human Biology major and Editor-in-Chief at the CRJ. In her spare time, she loves watching documentaries about nature and learning more about how organisms interact and co-exist in a shared space with limited resources. Some of her hobbies include photography, journaling, and creative writing.

Co-Secretaries

Sidney Fitch is a Human Biology major who currently works in a research lab at the Sanford Consortium, where she focuses on the maturation of hPSC-derived cardiomyocytes and methods to improve current in vitro production of these cells. She hopes to pursue a Ph.D in molecular biology after completing her undergraduate studies and loves to work out and read in her spare time. 

Nafeesa Karim is an Aerospace Engineering major who serves as co-Secretary at the CRJ. After graduation, she plans to apply to PhD programs at UC San Diego and is an avid reader in her spare time. 

Journalist

Meghana Hariprasad is a Molecular and Cell Biology major double-minoring in Chemistry and Psychology. She currently works as a research intern at the Dixon Lab at the Salk Institute for Biological Sciences where she explore gene regulation through the lens of chromatin folding and the formation of topologically associated domains in DNA. After her undergraduate studies, she plans on going to graduate school to complete her Master's and Ph.D. Some of her favorite hobbies include playing tennis, cooking for friends and family, and spending time outdoors.

Managing Editor

Sally Guan is an Ecology, Behavior, and Evolution major with a minor in Critical Gender Studies. Her research interests include analyzing the disproportionate health impacts of wildfire, effects of climate change disease vector-borne diseases, and air pollutions impact on health of adolescents. In her spare time, She enjoys baking, journaling, playing volleyball, and going on walks.

Publishing Coordinator

Leanne Liaw is a Neurobiology and Public Health double major whose academic interests include analyzing  the efficacy of currently-relied-on delivery channels for basic healthcare access in the United States and their impact on increasing health equity in underserved populations. In her spare time, she enjoys weightlifting, working on her crochet small business, and binging Disney+ shows with friends. 

Review Board Manager

Ya-Yuan Chan is a Molecular and Cell Biology major whose academic interests include his studies in immunology. He enjoys cycling in his spare time when he isn't preparing to apply for graduate school. 

Social Media Manager

Daezsa Rae Pasion is a Neurobiology major and Humanities minor. Her academic interests include literature, especially world literature and compositions that allow them to learn about different cultures and diversify their knowledge. Their favorite hobbies include watching movies, reading, writing, and crocheting.

Submissions Manager

Iliana Kleiner is a Developmental Psychology major minoring in General Biology. She currently is a research assistant in Dr. Walker's Early Learning and Cognition Lab and hopes to attend graduate school after completing her undergraduate education. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, traveling, going to the beach, and trying new coffee shops.

Web Director

Hanna O-Lee is a Neurobiology major and Cognitive Science minor. Her current academic interests include pediatric autism research, human physiology, neuroanatomy. When she isn't preparing for the medical school application process, Hanna enjoys swimming, binging Hulu, and trying new foodie places.
